For over a decade, the Alejandro de la Sota Foundation has been striving to preserve the work of one of Spain's most representative 20th century architects in the best possible conditions.
Moving beyond its promotion and support for the conservation of his work, the Foundation has now recovered and catalogued 16,000 of Alejandro de la Sota's original documents, more than 2,500 of which have been chosen for digitalization, including plans, sketches, photos and texts. They comprise one of the most complete digital archives covering a single architect now available on the Internet.
The Foundation is also striving to make all of this work available to researchers, students and architects via its digital archives, visits to his studio, the production of monographs and other specialist publications, the organisation of numerous exhibitions (fixed and travelling) and conferences, as well as participation in important events such as Architecture Week.
This has largely been made possible through the help of the people and organisations which support us. To continue and expand our work, we need the help of our members, both individuals and organisations, which share our concerns and support us with their trust and contributions.
If you are interested in the conservation and promotion of a culturally important body of architecture like the work of Alejandro de la Sota, and you would like to take part in this initiative, which has the backing of major universities, polytechnics and professional college, JOIN THE FOUNDATION. Not only will you become part of an initiative aimed at promoting modern Spanish architecture, but you will also gain access to our digital archives and receive generous discounts on the Foundation's publications and activities. Remember that your membership fee is tax deductible in Spain.
