Alejandro de la Sota's intense vocation in the field of architectural education and his concern that his archives -spanning his many years of work and ideas- should be accessible to students, researchers and architects, inspired his heirs to set up a Foundation in 1997 that bears his name and is devoted to the preservation and dissemination of his work.
With this goal in mind, his archives have been catalogued and digitised, and a web site,
www.alejandrodelasota.org, has been set up to provide access to the material. It is now
one of the world's most complete on-line digital archives covering a single architect.
This
work by the Alejandro de la Sota Foundation is a pioneering project. The methods being used to preserve and disseminate the archives are setting the groundwork for a virtual on-line museum of Spanish architecture.
