One of Alejandro de la Sota's constant concerns was that his archives -spanning his many years of work and ideas- should not gather dust, and that they should be accessible to students, researchers and architects. Our Foundation has recently begun to process his Digital Archives, one of the most thorough computerised libraries available today covering the work of a single architect, with public access via the Internet.
At present, the Digital Archives consist of 2500 computer documents, a selection taken from 16,000 documents held by the Foundation. They cover 36 projects by Alejandro de la Sota, and include plans, sketches, texts and photographs taken by the architect himself.
Entry to the Digital Archives is restricted. There are several ways to enter the Digital Archives:
- Three month subscription
(on-line subscription form). During this time, you will have unlimited access to the material contained in the Digital Archives.
- By Joining the Foundation
(private members) : In addition to unlimited access to the Digital Archives for as long as you are a member, you will be given generous discounts for purchases of the Foundation's monographs and specialist publications, as well as invitations to a range of activities. Most importantly, however, you will be helping to maintain a project that strives to preserve and publicise our architecture.
- If you are a student, a lecturer or a member of one of the colleges, schools and universities
(Supporting Organizations) that support our Foundation, you can have free access to the archives via their computer systems. If this is your case, contact the organisation about the way to gain access to the Archives.
